“I wanted to create a cocktail with ‘winter flavors’ that works perfectly as a New Year’s Eve drink. The apple verjus, cardamom and honey water enhance the flavor of the sweet white vermouth, while the champagne balances the cocktail and brings all the flavors together in an elegant concoction.”

What you need

The below recipe yields two beverages.

60 ml Martini Ambrato (Sweet white Vermouth) 40 ml Apple verjus (or high quality apple juice with high acidity like Ingrid Marie) 40 ml Honey water (2:1) 4 Green cardamom pods 120 ml Champagne (I prefer Moët Champagne)

Garnish: Pick a flower that fits the occasion Glassware: An elegant water glass (ca 30 cl) In the picture: Orrefors Difference water glass

See non-alcoholic version below the steps.

“For the garnish, why not use different flowers for each guest to make sure they know which glass is theirs?”

How to make it

  1. Muddle the green cardamom pod in the bottom of a cocktail shaker

  2. Put the rest of the ingredients besides the champagne in the cocktail shaker

  1. Put a large piece of ice (or several smaller ice cubes) in the water glass and add champagne.

  1. Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake for 3 seconds.

  2. Fine strain* the drink in the glass and carefully stir the drink with a bar spoon to mix.

*hold a fine strain, like a tea strainer, between the shaker and the glass.

  1. Garnish with flowers that fit the occasion

  2. Enjoy!
